Dear Sugar House Customers

It is a great pleasure that we announce the reopening of Sugar House Day Spa & Salon. We will be making appropriate precautions to ensure the continued vigilance against the spread of the COVID-19 within our  facility as best we can. We want to ensure you and our employees feel safe.

Sugar House is taking proactive precautions to meet the strict requirements and regulations set by the Commonwealth of Virginia. We know you may have concerns about COVID-19 so we wanted to take a moment to let you know what steps we are taking to keep you, as well as our staff, safe.  A number of measures have been implemented to comply with current recommendations from CDC and Virginia Health Department as well as extra precautions set by Sugar House Day Spa and Salon. Please read the following carefully as the outlined rules and regulations below will go into effect immediately upon reopening:

  • Prior to your appointment, all clients must complete a COVID-19 Health Risk Questionnaire and Risk Assessment. In order to streamline the check in process the Risk Assessment will be signed via email prior to arrival.
  • Clients must wash their hands per the CDC regulated 20 seconds upon entering/checking in for their service.
  • All clients and staff members will be required to wear a mask throughout their entire time in the building. Clients must arrive with their own mask. Due to the shortage of masks Sugar House can not provide masks for clients. We recommend the ear loop style mask for salon appointments so the stylist will comfortably have full access to the hair.
  • All clients and staff members’ temperatures will be scanned using a contactless thermometer upon arrival. If you have a fever and/or show symptoms of illness, your appointment will be cancelled and rescheduled for a future date (no penalty charges will occur from this.)
  • In an effort to limit the number of people seen in our building, we kindly ask that no guest accompany you into Sugar House unless they also have an appointment. This policy will assist in maintaining Social Distancing  Requirements.
  • We highly recommend and encourage calling ahead walk-in appointments or for any retail order.  Our staff will have your order ready in advance and take payment over the phone to expedite the pickup process and limit the number of clients in the boutique.

In addition to the above actions we also have made changes to our daily operations such as:

  • We will have hand sanitizers placed throughout the building for clients and staff use.
  • All check-in, registers and manicure stations will have protective plastic dividers to create a safe space during checkin-in, check-out and during manicure services.

  • Estheticians will be outfitted with protective shield masks to ensure safety during close contact facial appointments.

  • We are staggering and extending appointments times to ensure patients are not sitting in our waiting area and/or interacting with one another.

  • Our refreshment coffee/tea/wine and juice services will be temporarily closed until further notice. We will still have filtered water available.
  • Our staff will make efforts to take clients as soon as possible upon entry to limit our waiting room volume.
  • We have removed all communal promotional materials, brochures as well as magazines.
  • We will disinfect each room before and after treatments/services.
  • We are continuing to comply with CDC approved cleaning products to disinfect stations after each client. We will also continue with our increased frequency of cleaning on heavily used areas like doorknobs, restrooms, light switches, phones, solid work surfaces of all hair stations, nail and pedicure rooms, massage and facial rooms, changing rooms and waiting areas.
  • We have changed all carpets and replaced all air filters during our recent closure and spent the two weeks leading up to reopening deep cleaning/sanitizing throughout the entire building.
  • Our staff will not be shaking hands/hugging with clients and will be required to do frequent hand washing (20 seconds with warm water and soap) before and after their appointments.

These measures are to reduce the risk for YOU, friends, neighbors, loved ones and our lovely staff from COVID-19.

After reading the requirements, if you are not agreeable to the new daily operation requirements and regulations, we will need to cancel your appointment(s).

It is with great anticipation we welcome you back to our spa, and we wish you all continued good health and safety. Should you need to make an appointment or if you have any questions, please feel free to call us at 703-549-9940.

Sincerely,

Sugar House Day Spa and Salon
